In response to the rapid and widespread development of generative AI, and its impact and potential applications in higher education, the university encourages all faculty, staff, and students to adopt a positive and responsible attitude when using AI tools or human-AI collaboration models in the university education environment. The principles are as follows:
- Encourage AI Use in Teaching: Faculty are encouraged to integrate AI into their courses, while respecting diverse application methods, strategies,
and standards that align with teaching goals, course content, and current AI trends. - Support AI Use in Learning: Students are encouraged to explore and apply various AI tools and human-AI collaboration models, and to share their
learning experiences and practical insights responsibly. - Promote Interdisciplinary AI Engagement: Faculty, staff, and students may form interdisciplinary AI study groups, organize experience-sharing
sessions, seminars, or hands-on workshops to continuously enhance individual and organizational understanding, ethical awareness, and literacy in AI applications.
Standards for Using AI-Generated Content:
- When using AI-generated content, indicate the product name, version, and usage date as a source for verification. This can follow a format similar to citing personal communications to ensure compliance with academic ethics and integrity. Users must avoid plagiarism, violations of academic ethics, or copyright infringement, and bear any related academic or legal responsibilities.
- For AI-generated content involving knowledge or factual information, users should actively provide and cite verifiable sources, assess accuracy and credibility, and consider the context and perspective of the information.
- Even when using generative AI for creative purposes (e.g., idea generation, image or text creation) that do not involve factual accuracy, users must carefully verify sources and comply with academic and legal standards.
