1. What is a Digital Learning Program?
A digital learning program is a class in which 50% or more of the required credits for graduation are completed through distance learning, and the program confers a degree in accordance with regulations.
Types of programs:
- Master’s Program for Working Professionals (Digital Learning): Designed for working professionals living domestically or abroad who pursue studies through digital learning and are awarded a master’s degree.
- Digital Learning Program for Overseas Students: Offered in collaboration with partner institutions abroad, admitting international students, and legally awarding associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees.
2. Conditions for Establishing a Program
Faculty Requirements:
- Must meet the university’s faculty appointment qualifications.
- Must have experience in digital teaching (meeting at least one of the following): previously certified by the Ministry of Education for a digital learning course, previously taught a MOOC or previously taught other distance learning courses
Course Requirements:
- The number of digital learning course credits in the program must account for at least half of the total graduation credits, and the courses must pass the official course review.
3. Differences Between Courses in a Digital Learning Program and Other Courses
- Courses in a digital learning program conducted through distance learning must pass the Ministry of Education’s digital learning course review.
- The review criteria include faculty arrangements, course description, course content planning, instructional design, and more.
- To pass the review, all indicators must meet the “Compliant” standard.
2. Application Timeline
The Ministry of Education announces the application period for digital learning programs each year.
Specific dates must be checked in the current year’s official announcement.
5. Can a Program Reapply if the Initial Application Fails?
- Yes. If the initial application is not approved, reapplication is allowed.
- The Ministry of Education will provide review feedback for applications that were not approved.
- When reapplying, applicants must explain the corrective measures taken for any indicators or overall comments that were previously non-compliant and provide supporting documentation.
